Lagavulin 12 Year Old 2018 Special ReleasesPlease wait Please wait
Part of the 2018 Special Releases from Diageo, this limited-edition Lagavulin single malt was matured in refill American oak hogsheads for 12 years before being bottled in 2018. It is rich and smoky on the nose, with aromas of sea salt, smouldering driftwood and oily tar. The palate has smoky notes of peat, coal dust, sea salt and tar, with a sweet vein of heather honey.
The longest remaining staple of Diageo’s Special Releases, having missed only the first year, the Lagavulin 12 Year Old is an annual fan-favourite. Bottled at a higher ABV than standard releases, it shows a bolder, wilder side to Lagavulin’s spirit.

About the Producer
Founded on Islay’s south coast, Lagavulin began distilling legally in 1816, and it was bought in 1862 by blender John Logan Mackie. His nephew Peter Mackie took over the distillery in 1889, launching the White Horse blend in 1890 and building second distillery on the site in 1908. Bought in 1927 by Distillers Company Limited, which later became Diageo, Lagavulin continues to produce heavily-peated single malts with a salty, maritime edge.

2020欧洲杯时间 A wild whisky that feels very vibrant on the palate. The nose is not very different from the 2017 expression with several citrus fruits and mint dominating. The palate is a little sweeter but still very fresh. I can’t think of a whisky even remotely similar to this, maybe it’s just me but this is like heaven at sunset.
2020欧洲杯时间 Oh my word! I was given a Christmas present of a sizeable sample from my Ain;'t no foolin' Lagavulin Ambassador friend. It's definitely a much sweeter Lag 12 - Almost the Distillers Edition, cask strength! Amplified fruit and farmyard on the nose along with what I misread Billy's notes for "Sweat peat" . That'll do! A little more surprise complexity on the palate than I remember. A wee bit richer. Tarry chocolate and...DAMN! My Sample is finished! Gone! A slightly short finish, though the slightly sweet ( and yes, Billy - minerally and mentholated ) hints linger on the Islay breeze! Well, I HAD to order a bottle from you....a Christmas after lunch treat. 5 1/2 points. OK, folks. That's a dram you owe Colin...
2020欧洲杯时间 Another year another 12 another beautiful cask strength laga
