Malt of the Month: July 2020
We choose our Malt of the Month to highlight some of the great whiskies of the world. Some are well known, some less so, but you can be certain that if it's our Malt of the Month, then you won't be disappointed. This month we've chosen:
Batch No 4
Distilled in 2009 and aged in first fill casks, this sherry-matured single malt offers notes of raisins, dark chocolate, brambles, red berries, zesty oranges and soft smoke. We’ve chosen this as our Malt of the Month for July as it pairs well with warm summer evenings and barbecues.

About the Producer
2020欧洲杯时间 Founded just before the turn of the 20th century, Benromach made whisky intermittently for the next 85 years, changing hands frequently during that time.
2020欧洲杯时间 It was closed in 1983, one of the many victims of a glut of Scotch whisky on the market, and lay silent for 11 years. Gordon & MacPhail, well known to whisky fans for their independent bottlings, then bought Benromach and set about creating a new distillery within the shell of the old.
It took the company several years to create the distillery and the spirit they wanted, and in consequence it wasn't until the late 1990s before their first spirit was made. Since then Benromach's philosophy has remained the same: to recreate a traditional style of Speyside whisky that's elegant, nuanced and offers just a wisp of smoke, something which would have been created by the occasional use of peat in barley malting in decades gone by.

The 10yr cask strength was a masterpiece for its price. Good balance of cask influence and distillery character. The NAS cask strength has been good but not as great but this batch 004 has a better sherry cask influence and quite savoury. Better than other batches IMHO
